South bound main to River St is closed! South bound traffic on Main will detour east or west on 1st. Street! Also there is no left turn from East bound River St onto Main St.
The West bound lane of River St is almost complete! Soon traffic will be routed back into the North lane and the South lane will be closed. It sure will be nice to drive on the new concrete but it will probably spoil us and we will want to have it all the way up Main St.
The project has been several years in the works and is finally coming around. The old asphalt from the intersection at the light west to the beginning of the corner of Oak St will be removed and replaced with concrete. This will provide a smooth and lasting surface for River St. traffic in Eureka. Detours will send south bound traffic on Main street destined west on 54 over to walnut by first or second street. There will be no left turn up Main street for East bound 54 traffic. Traffic on River will be routed to one side of the highway and then to the other side to allow for construction. The right turn lane from Main onto River will be closed while the North half of River St. is under renovation. Delivery truck traffic destined for down town will be routed to Jefferson st to 7th st to down town.
