The City of Eureka provides water and wastewater utility services to their citizenry. Eureka is also surrounded by numerous water supply sources, securing Eureka's water for years to come. The City currently uses Otis Creek reservoir as a primary water supply with Fall River and Eureka Lake as a back-up supplies. Most of the drainage basin feeding to the lakes are wide-open pasture land, making the quality of the water some of the best in Kansas.

Eureka's water treatment facility currently distributes an average of about 600,000 gallons per day, with the capability of producing 1.3 million gallons per day. The water system has more than 23 miles of lines that distributes water to our citizenry and businesses alike. This makes the water distribution system more than capable of handling any business that wants to locate in or relocate to Eureka, with additional room for expansion.

Eureka's water plant is operated by qualified, state certified operators with a commitment to provide the highest quality water. Water samples are collected from all other the city daily to make sure Eureka meets or exceeds the water quality standards set by the Federal and State governments.

Eureka also provides water for two rural water districts, RWD #1 and RWD#2. These two districts supply water to a large part of the rural population in the middle and southern parts of Greenwood County.
